We are pleased to welcome Dr Sarah Okafor to the Trust's research programme. Dr Okafor joins us from the University of Edinburgh and will be leading our ongoing work on coronary flow in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Dr Okafor brings a wealth of experience in clinical research and advanced echocardiography. Her project will investigate the mechanistic link between coronary microvascular rarefaction and myocardial stiffness, a key pathophysiological feature of HFpEF.

"I am thrilled to join the team at St Mary's," said Dr Okafor. "The Trust has a stellar reputation for producing high-impact research, and I am eager to contribute to our understanding of HFpEF, a condition that remains notoriously difficult to treat."
