Biography
Dr Balrik Kailey is the Lead Researcher at the St Mary's Coronary Flow Trust and a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at St Mary's Hospital, London. With over 15 years of experience in invasive and non-invasive coronary physiology, Dr Kailey has pioneered the use of coronary flow reserve measurements in the management of patients with angina and unobstructed coronary arteries.
Research
Dr Kailey's research focuses on the pathophysiology and clinical implications of coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD). He leads a multidisciplinary team investigating the relationship between myocardial perfusion, endothelial function, and long-term cardiovascular outcomes. His work is funded by the British Heart Foundation and the National Institute for Health Research.
